The feast of Mary, Queen of the Apostles, that is celebrated in the Pallottine Family all over the world the Saturday before Pentecost, was for the Community in Mbaukwu the occasion to welcome 7 new Postulants. Family members, friends and UAC members gathered to celebrate the Eucharist in the afternoon of that day.
Fr Peter Hillen SAC, the Rector, was the chief-celebrant, assisted by Fr John Ndidi Nwaocha and Fr Geoffrey Chidi Onukuli. Fr John, in his homely, explained the role of each Christian to be an Apostle today in using the image of Mary, gathered with the Apostles in the upper room, the Cenacle. The Church lives by the work of the Holy Spirit in each baptist and confirmed Christian.
The Pallottine family received the charism to renew the faith and to re-enkindle charity in the hearts of the faithful and to unite all in Christ. The new Postulants received out the hand of the Postulant master, Fr Geoffrey the signs of their engagement: a candle, to be light for others and the medal of Saint Vincent Pallotti, to live the spirituality of their founder. In the night of that same day about 60 members of the Union of Catholic Apostolate (UAC) gathered in the chapel of Saint Vincent Pallotti House to live a prayer vigil. The rosary, praise and adoration, spiritual conferences, confession, songs and the mass were elements of this wonderful experience. Happy to be a Christian.
