Righteousness in need of righteous people in the fast-changing ecosphere

Righteousness is a pivot or a spindle for morality, uprightness, justice, honesty, decency, virtue and so on and so forth. Then a righteous person is the custodian of righteousness; the one who protects righteousness and makes sure that it shines always especially in the midst of evil and injustice. Righteousness is one of the integral contents of the beatitudes as it is evident in  Matthew 5:10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. This gospel passage gives an unshakable assurance of the great reward of the kingdom of heaven to all the righteous people – the upholders of the righteousness. Furthermore, the promise of heaven is a powerful enticement to all righteous people and hence should encourage them to defend righteousness in this fast-changing world regardless of what it may cost them. Our ecosphere today presents us with many different realities that quite often discourage us from reflecting on the great reward for upholding righteousness which is heaven.

Perhaps, our greatest fear is that of being persecuted when trying to defend righteousness. Remember Jesus Christ takes note of the persecution that is why he tells you to be happy when you are persecuted for righteousness because the heavenly kingdom is yours. Among the fast-changes in our world today are the lack of righteous people, increase in the population of evil people, promotion of evil as a universal culture, and just to mention few. The ecosphere has reached a juncture whereby evil has become the dominant culture which makes righteousness to lose its custodians more and more. Those who were once custodians of righteousness now become the custodians of evil. This is so because people are afraid of opposing the current and rhythm that the world gives. Most people are nowadays shy and frightened to do righteous because of what the world will say or do. As a result, righteousness is left without righteous people. Righteousness is greatly in need of righteous people, like you the reader of this writing, who can stand up on their feet to challenge the negative rhythm of this ecosphere and reinstall morality, decency, uprightness etc which has become almost a strange reality in the world of today.
